mousasipost-1_mediumGegard Mousasi stepped into the cage during Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg event a realative unknown to the casual fans. After destroying Renato “Babalu” Sobral, the Strikeforce light heavyweight champ, in a minute flat, everyone can’t stop talking about the twenty-four year old Armenian. Mousasi isn’t a rookie though, he sports an impressive record of 26-2-1. Mousasi is now on a 13 fight win streak, though mainly fighting at middleweight (185lbs.).

Now that Gegard is the Strikeforce light heavyweight champ and plans on staying at 205lbs., whats next for the M-1 fighter? Currently Mousasi is slated to fight Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at Dream’s next event. But after Sokoudjou is there anyone left for Gegard to fight?

Looking over the current roster on Strikeforce’s website and the options appear thin. The likes of Anthony Ruiz, Bobby Southworth or a rematch with “Babalu” just don’t scream “must see”. Mousasi left the cage without a scratch on him.

After Sokoudjou who will Mousasi fight?
