Frankie Edgar vs. Kurt Pellegrino at Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale
According to ESPN.com’s “Inside MMA” host Jon Anik, Frankie Edgar (10-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Kurt Pellegrino (14-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) are currently in talks to fight Dec. 5 at the Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale.
Edgar suffered his first loss at the hands of Gray Maynard in April 2008. sine then he has two consecutive wins over Sean Sherk and Hermes Franca. Pellegrino started out 1-2 in the UFC but has since earned three-straight wins over Josh Neer, Robert Emerson and Thiago Tavares.
This will be a good fight on the main card of the finale, but I can’t help but think that this is a step back for Edgar. When he fought Gray Maynard, Edgar was a win away from being in title contention. He rebounded with wins over a solid Franca and former champ Sherk. Pellegrino has won 3 in a row but the caliber is below that of Edgar.
I win by Edger doesn’t really more him up the ladder at lightweight. A lose will knock him way done the ladder though.
