The main Event – Jose Aldo seems to be a natural born killer, just look at him or one of his recent fights for proof. Urijah Faber will be game for a great fight, and he knows how to bring it.  Jose Aldo is 16-1 with 11 wins by tko/ko, 6 of them being his fights in the WEC. Urijah is 23-3 and held the 145 pound championship in the WEC for nearly 3 years. One is fighting is his home town, the other where he feels is a “home away from home”. Urijah Faber had a very impressive fight against a serious top 5 contender and Bjj expert, but finished him in a brutal submission. Jose Aldo seems to destroy everyone on the feet and is coming off a very impressive win over Mike Brown. This fight is a battle of fast technical striking and promises to deliver.

Inspiration – These guys do not make nearly as much as the run of the mil UFC fighter. The work ethic put in by these fighters is crazy, and I am sure if you’ve ever seen a WEC event you know almost every fight is fast paced and action packed.  Not just applied to MMA but lower levels of sports have athletes that normally take more risks to make it to the top. At a lower pay grade they fight to win, and lately at a higher grade they fight not to lose.

Fight of the year – Benson Henderson defeated Donald Cerrone in the Fight of the Year last year and we are lucky to see this go down once again this year. Everything was displayed the their last fight; wrestling, grappling, submission attempts, ground and pound, striking knock downs, reverses of position, finish attempts, and muay thai. I don’t know of any MMA fan who wouldn’t like that fight, or to see it happen again tonight.

Another Re-match Firefight – Scott Jorgenson vs. Antonio Banuelos was another very good fight that ended in a split decision war with Banuelos in favor.  Scott is on a 3 fight win streak with his last fight ending in the ten finger guillotine lift. He seems to be on fire right now and is defiantly looking to take back that loss on his record. Antonio has won one fight since their last meeting and is always prepared to fight hard.

Mike Brown - He wants back into the title picture, but he has another very tough opponent to get through to get there. Both are ex-ufc fighters, both are great wrestlers. This fight is very interesting to me and probably the hardest to bet on.

Time to Pay the Piper – Fans and fighters constantly make remarks about how fighters are not making enough money, and that Dana White is holding back. Make this card a success and these hard working WEC fighters will start making more money from the UFC/WEC. If it’s a flop none of these guys are going to get a crack @ PPV money for a long time to come.  It all trickles down and if they aren’t doing well the fighters suffer.

This should be an amazing night of fights and I hope you all enjoy them, Support MMA and be a good fan.
