The day before the event former WEC light heavyweight champ Steve Cantwell (7-3) has been forced to withdraw from his fight with Stanislav Nedkov (10-0) due to injury.

The injury was first reported by Fighters Only and then later confirmed by MMAJunkie.

Cantwell apparently ripped a knee ligament during a late training session on Thursday, forcing him to withdraw. With only a day’s notice the fight has been scraped from the night undercard but both fighters will receive their “show” money.

Cantwell has been battling injures and hadn’t fought in 13 months, following back to back losses. This injury will likely keep the “The Robot” out another couple of months.

Nedkov was scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC 120 but that is now be put on hold. The Bulgarian fighter will re-group and look to make his debut on an upcoming UFC card.
