When the WEC hits sin city on November 11 for WEC 52 it will be just under three years since the last time Urijah Faber fought in Las Vegas at WEC 31. Faber has fought six since then and every single fight was in California, guess that’s why they call him the California kid.

Faber holds a very mediocre 3-3 record in those six fights and has decided to make a major change to help get him back to the top. At WEC 52 at The Pearl at the Palms, Faber will be making his Mixed Martial Arts debut at Bantamweight (135 lbs.).

His debut will not be an easy one though, he’ll be taking on 2003 Shooto rookie of the year Takeya Mizugaki (13-4). Mizugaki is coming off a unanimous decision victory over a very opponent in Rani Yahya at WEC 48 and is 2-2 in the WEC. Those two loses though were to the champ at the time Miguel Torres and highly ranked and rising star Scott Jorgensen.

WEC 52 isn’t just about Urijah Faber, the card also features rising featherweights Josh Grispi and Chad Mendes against tough opponents. Also on the main card are two top bantamweight fights featuring Joseph Benavidez vs. Wagnney Fabiano and Eddie Wineland vs. Damacio Page.

The undercard is loaded and not to be overlooked as well with fighters like Cub Swanson, Raphael Assuncao, L.C. Davis and Anthony Njokuani.

WEC 52 will be shown live on the Versus Network, but if you want to see it live and in person there are still some tickets available, but you better hurry.
