The middle fight on the UFC 127 preliminary card shown live on ION TV featured two middleweight fighters making their official UFC debut. The former Deep middleweight champion, Riki Fukuda (17-5) took on the undefeated Nick Ring (11-0), who appeared in the 11th season of the Ultimate Fighter reality series.

After the two fighters locked horns for 15 frantic minutes, everyone thought that Fukuda had won the fight. As the judges scores were being read by Bruce Buffer, “29-28 29-28 and 29-28 for the winner…. Nick Ring” the entire world did a collective HUH? Apparently the judges didn’t watch the same fight as the rest of the world, that or they thought getting taken down was a good thing in MMA.

Besides an opening round flurry from Ring, Fukuda easily controlled the fight and consistently took Ring to the ground. Though neither fighter inflicted too much damage on the other, Fukuda controlled the octagon and controlled his opponent, deserving the win.

“Judges fucking suck again!! Fukuda got robbed!!!” is what Dana White tweeted almost immediately after the scores were announced. That pretty much sums it up perfectly from the UFC president, the judges suck and something needs to be done.

Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
