Rising Stars Line the TUF 13 Finale Fight Card

The season finale of The Ultimate Fighter 13 is already shaping up with some very well picked fights, which showcase most of the very best from the WEC. Blue cage fighters Anthony Pettis, Scott Jorgensen, Jonathon Brookins, Josh Grispi, George Roop and Ken Stone are all slated for the fight card. This could very well be one of the most exciting fight cards this year based on all of the great fights and finishes we have seen from these fighters during their time in the WEC.

Recently Demetrious Johnson was paired against Renan Barão, which will surely make some sort of broadcast and adds another great fight to this already impressive card.

Johnson (9-1 MMA) is a wrestling based fighter out of AMC Pankration under one of the most famous trainers in the sport, Matt Hume. He has some of the smoothest takedowns and timing in the bantamweight division along with incredible speed and angles. These skills have enabled Johnson to blow past every top guy he has faced since he was handed his first lost fighting above his natural weight class (125lbs). Since that time Johnson has added the necessary weight to fight elite bantamweights and seems to have grown experience wise with every fight. He has a tough match in Barão who is no joke anywhere in the ring and this fight will be very explosive from both fighters.

Barão (25-1 MMA) is a shooto fighter out of Nova Uniao alongside champion Jose Aldo. He has only tasted one loss in his professional debut and has blazed through many of Brazil’s finest fighters before making his move to the United States to fight. He has two submission wins in his only WEC fights, and has some very slick submissions mixed with wildly aggressive and powerful strikes. If this fight goes to the mat early it could be very easy for Johnson to get caught in the web of brutal Jiu Jitsu Barão possesses.

This fight promises to bring Johnson one step closer to a title shot should he win, or Barão instant exposure and credibility within the division should he win. Be sure to watch this season on the ultimate fighter and it’s great finale for free on Spike TV June 4th, it promises already to be one of the best free events this year.
