Following an entertaining preliminary card that aired on Facebook, the main card delivered quick finishes, back and forth decisions, upsets and another Ultimate Fighter season winner. Team Lesnar’s vs. Team Dos Santos might have been a questionable season but the finale closed the 13th season nicely.
The card opened with two Team Lesnar members facing off in what looked to be a more a competitive bout then what ended happening in the Octagon. The onetime Strikeforce fighter, Chris Cope out punched Chuck O’Neil in route to a unanimous decision.
In the nights other lopsided affair, Clay Guida out wrestled and smothered Anthony Pettis for a unanimous decision that saw the title shot waiting for Pettis disappear. Pettis was very active from the bottom and tried for countless submissions against Guida but was taken down effortlessly throughout the fight. Pettis spent the majority of the fight on his back and when the judges’ card was read all three gave the fight to Guida.
The main event crowned a new Ultimate Fighter winner and just as it started the fight was over. Tony Ferguson of Team Lesnar made very short work on Ramsey Nijem when he landed a left to the jaw that folded Nijem up. Ferguson followed it up with a few shots on the ground until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight. In this striker vs. wrestler match up it was the heavy hands of the striker that came out the victor.
