Cage Fight and MASS Featherweight champion, Jim “The Kid” Hettes has found a new home to display his skills. Thursday, Hettes signed a four fight deal with Zuffa, LLC, the parent company to the UFC.

The Swoyersville, Pennsylvania  native has impressed local fans in the North East Pennsylvania area, amassing an unblemished record in both his professional and amateur record. Making his amateur debut in 2007, The Kid won all 4 of his amateur bouts before turning pro in 2009. The 24-year old hasn’t looked back since, going 8-0 over two years, including winning the PA Cage Fight Featherweight Championship.

Most recently, Hettes, a 2-time Keystone State Games Judo gold medalist, submitted highly respected Jacob Kirwan in the 2nd round of their MASS Featherweight Championship fight on July 16th in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

This isn’t the first time Hettes has had a chance to take his skills to the next level. Hettes was offered a fight on The Ultimate Finale: Team GSP vs Team Koscheck, but had to turn down the opportunity due to contract obligations with PA Cage Fight.

Hettes now moves onto the big stage of the UFC Featherweight division, leaving friends and family proud of the work the young fighter has put in. No date has been announced for his UFC debut.

I was born in New York, but currently reside in PA. Have been following the sport since about 2000, ever since I picked up a few VHS' of the old UFC tournaments. I served on active duty in the Marines and currently serve in the PA Army National Guard. I've been doing sub-wrestling and BJJ for about 2 years and have studied Aikido for 3 years. I enjoy all forms of combat sports, but huge into BJJ tournaments and of course, MMA.
