Cory Tait confirmed last night with UCMMA promoter Dave O’Donnell that he is to relinquish his Featherweight title, choosing instead to continue his journey towards the Bantamweight title. Following this decision from Tait, UCMMA promoters have announced that February’s bout between Brendon Katz and Ashleigh Grimshaw at UCMMA 26 will be for the newly vacant featherweight title.

Brendon who holds an impressive record of 7-1 will fly over from South Africa to take on the brawling Brit, Ashleigh Grimshaw.

Speaking after the title fight had been confirmed, Grimshaw said how delighted he was to be fighting for Dave O’Donnell again admitting  “finding out it’s for a title makes it even better, Christmas has come early for me this year.”

On the title fight, promoter Dave O’Donnell said “As always I am excited to put on another title fight with two outstanding fighters, both guys have promised to take on anyone and that’s the kind of fighters I love, may the best man win.”

This fight is set to let off fireworks as the stand up of Grimshaw meets the ground game of Katz, who will get the title at the end of the night? Who knows.
