Preliminary card (Facebook) Starts at 4:30pm PT / 7:30pm ET

170 lbs.: Matt Riddle vs. Luis Ramos

  • Fight was scratched at the last minute due to an illness by Matt Riddle

145 lbs.: Diego Nunes defeated Manvel Gamburyan by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

  • Nunes comes out with leg kicks from all angles, staying on the outside and picking his shots. Manny gets a brief takedown but does minimal damage and Nunes was able to get back up. Much better round for Manny in the second as he landed a big right hand and scored another takedown. Nunes ended the round with some nice knees but it wasn’t enough to steal the round. Nunes stuffed all the takedowns attempted from Manny in round three and kept to the outside, landing heavy leg kicks. Close fight!

155 lbs.: Jacob Volkmann defeated Efrain Escudero by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

  • Escudero pulled guard looking for a guillotine but the tough Volkmann powered out, moved to side control and stayed there the entire round. Again Escudero pulled guard and paid the price until the referee stood them up. Volkmann gets another takedown and moves to the back of Escudero looking for the rear naked choke. Escudero has nothing for Volkmann. Another takedown from Volkmann opens the final round and he controls most of the frame until Escudero gets a deep north south choke in that almost ends the fight. Too little too late though.

170 lbs.: Dong Hyun Kim defeated Sean Pierson by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

  • Kim rocked Pierson with a front kick to the jaw that had him in big trouble but the end of the round saved him. Kim came out strong in round three looking to put Pierson away. Pierson did a good job of avoiding another big strike but Kim gets a takedown and controls from there. The round ends on their feet with Kim getting the better of the striking. Another fight goes the distance.

Preliminary card (Spike TV) Starts at 6:00pm PT / 9:00pm ET

155 lbs.: Danny Castillo defeated Anthony Njokuani by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

  • Round one was all Castillo, dictating the fight with his pressure and wrestling. Castillo picked up Njokuani a few times and slammed him down, easily taking the first round. More takedowns from Castillo in round two but he looked to be getting tired and Njokuani got some good strikes in on the team alpha male fighter. Castillo went into full on wrestling mode in round three and blanketed Njokuani for most of the round, not allowing him much space to land the strikes he was in round two. Two fights in five weeks looked to take a toll on Castillo towards the end of the fight but he battled through it.

145 lbs.: Ross Pearson defeated Junior Assunção by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

  • Odd opening round as Pearson continually had to walk down the backing up Assuncao. It’s the style by Assuncao that is making this fight frustrating for Pearson and many of the fans as well. Pearson gets caught with a stiff jab that allows Assuncao to get a takedown where he had his opponent in deep trouble before an escape. Assuncao is much more aggressive in the final round that had Pearson retreating a bit. He did come back towards the end of the end but yet another fight goes the distance.

Main card (PPV) Starts at 7:00pm PT / 10:00pm ET

145 lbs.: Jimy Hettes defeated Nam Phan by Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-26)

  • First round was all Jimy Hettes! After taking the fight down Hettes began dropping ground and pound on Phan and when that didn’t end the fight he tried for a submission. Phan is one tough guy but he was dominated in that round. Same thing in the second round as Hettes continued to dominate and do whatever he wants too. Not to sound like a broken record but round three was just like the others, all Hettes. When the final bell sounded the face of Phan looked battered, while Hettes looked as if he wasn’t even in a fight.

205 lbs.: Alexander Gustafsson defeated Vladimir Matyushenko by 1st rd. TKO

  • Gustafsson started the fight staying on the outside, knowing that Matyushenko needed to get inside to do his damage. After Matyushenko was having no luck on the outside he rushed in and got caught with a stiff left hand that dropped him. A flurry from Gustafsson ended the fight by TKO to bring the nights first finish.

170 lbs.: Johny Hendricks defeated Jon Fitch by 1st rd. KO

  • 12 seconds and the fight was over! A left hand to the chin on Fitch flattened him out and another left on the ground flattened him again, fight over.

155 lbs.: Nate Diaz defeated Donald Cerrone by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

  • Cerrone comes out and charges Diaz, maybe a little too hyped or that Diaz has gotten into his head. Diaz using his jab to pick apart Cerrone who doesn’t seem to be able to avoid a single punch from Diaz. Cerrone landing more kicks in round two, several which actually tripped Diaz to the ground. Diaz is still picking him apart but it was a much better round for Cerrone than the first. Diaz comes out with his hands down taunting Cerrone in round three. Cerrone looking tired but still landing the kicks that are tripping Diaz. Diaz landing punches in bunches to the body and the face that will likely earn him the decision.
  • After the fight Diaz and Cerrone shake hands. Diaz even hands Cerrone his hat before his post fight interview with Joe Rogan.

265 lbs.: Alistair Overeem defeated Brock Lesnar by 1st rd TKO

  • Lesnar decided to go toe to toe with Overeem and after he stuffed a single leg from Lesnar it was all but over. Lesnar ate multiple kicks to the gut and the last one was to the liver and Lesnar bend over in pain. Overeem went in for the kill and ended the fight.
  • Following the fight Lesnar announced that after a long road and last few years battling Diverticulitis he was done fighting.
