Jorge Santiago Back in Action this Friday at TFC 23

| June 13, 2012 | 2 Replies

Upon earning a second chance in the UFC, Middleweight Jorge Santiago (24-10) quickly had his hopes of a resurgence extinguished as he went 0-2 and was once again released from the company. Between his two stints in the UFC, a combined thirteen months, Santiago composed a less than impressive 1-4 record, with three of those losses coming by way of knockout.

However, in the years between his UFC visits, Santiago went 11-1 with most his victories under the Sengoku banner. Now that he’s back into the smaller circuit, he is back to his winning ways. In his first fight since his release, Santiago knocked out Leonardo Pecanha in just under two minutes of the first round at Titan Fighting Championship 21. Jorge is back in action this weekend as he takes on fellow UFC veteran, Jay Silva (8-6) in the main event at Titan Fighting Championship 23 in Fort Riley, Kansas.

When Jay Silva and Jorge Santiago cross paths, it should make for a great fight that you won’t want to miss.

TFC 23: Fight for the Troops will air on HDNet this Friday, starting at 7pm PT / 10pm ET. Beside Jorge Santiago the TFC 23 card will also feature a special attraction bout between Army Captain Brandon Bear and Nick Budig.

[Update] While the Titan Fighting Championship site still has Jorge Santiago fighting Jay Silva, he is actually now set to face Justin Guthrie.
