Invicta FC 2 Main Card Breakdown

Recently a new fight promotion came into the still expanding MMA scene with an all women’s format and Professional fights that deliver great entertainment. Still on the forefront of what could be the biggest shift in women’s professional mixed martial arts ever, Invicta FC takes the simple approach to providing the best possible match making available while building solid divisional formats and stars.

With Saturday’s Invicta FC 2 the promotion steps up their match making yet also plays off their first success bringing back some heavy hitters and exciting fighters to polish up a large fight card that will be broadcast live via online stream at InvictaFC.com.

In the Invicta FC 2 main event a fast rising Olympian Sara McMann looks to prove her wrestling superiority will be too much for a submission savvy Shayna Baszler. McMann is an undefeated prospect trying to set her own path like the highly touted Rhonda Rousey, smashing her opponents one by one and never looking back. Baszler is not to be overlooked and is nasty off her back and in the striking exchanges, plus the experience in the fight game that might be too much for McMann. This could be one of the most exciting female fights of our history and the Invicta crew really picked their main event right with this one.

In the co main event Hitomi Akano will meet the tough Alexis Davis in another great Invicta FC 2 match that pairs two Jiu Jitsu aces who seem to never give up or give in. Akano was paired with Miesha Tate in Strikeforce and really brought the submission game to her until a questionable referee stand up. Akano is tough to break, has a great pace and is good with sweeps and transitional grappling. Davis is super tough and will grind nearly any fighter away and any girl that gives her an inch, she will take that a mile. Davis takes people into deep water with her pace and owns a legit black belt to back her up in any situation.

Next up we get to see one of the toughest girl / Marines ever Liz Carmouche square off against Kaitlin Young who recently won the Invicta Fight of the night honors in her last outing. This fight could really steal the show as both girls have a tough mentality and unforgiving paces. Liz has fought in many professional organizations and never had a disappointing fight for the fans. Liz has gorilla ground and pound best related to Mark Munoz and will be ready where ever this fight takes her. Kaitlin is incredibly hard to finish and comes back strong when her opponents gas out. This will be an absolute war and is the fight many are looking forward to on the Invicta FC 2 card.

Adding to the big main card Sarah D’Alelio will look to use her submissions skills to kill the four fight win streak of Vanessa Porto. Porto is a tough Brazilian fighter who has really started to take a tear in the rankings with four finishes in her last four fights. Sarah is a tough older veteran who is quite scary in the cage, this fight should set one woman on the path to a high ticket Invicta fight on the next card.

In what seems to be the beginning of the big fights of the Invicta FC 2 main card knockout artist Amanda Nunes will meet another big striker in Leslie Smith. Amanda is in need of another huge dominating win and this one will be a perfect test fight that could prove to be another highlight reel knock out.

Next up is a battle of unbeaten prospects Akaya Hamasaki ( current Jewels Champion) faces off against fellow flyweight and unbeaten prospect Jasminka Cive. Jasminka has four knockout victories and one submission and really is everything we look for in a MMA prospect and will look to shine even brighter for Invicta.

The second main card fight of the night pairs Barb Honchak who has two major wins over WMMA stars against an undefeated prospect in Bethany Marshall. Bethany has an impressive record and even a highly touted toe hold but no major wins so this will defiantly be the biggest fight to date for her record. Barb is super tough and hard to beat, only suffering loses early in her fight career and looks to stop the hype train before it starts.

To open up the Invicta FC 2 main card, Carla Esparza looks to use her grappling skills against Sarah Schneider who will be a hometown favorite in what will be a packed Kansas City stadium. This will be a highly technical fight to drag us into the main card and is a good competitive matchup to hook the at home viewers.
