Charles Oliveira UFC 152As UFC 152 approaches, Charles Oliveira readies himself to try to extend his win streak to three when he faces Cub Swanson. Oliveira started his UFC career with two big wins, and the world took notice. His next three fights did not go as well, going 0-2-1 when facing top-notch fighters like Jim Miller and Donald Cerrone.

Oliveira decided to make a move down in weight class, to featherweight, and is 2-0 so far. Oliveira has a black belt in brazilian jiu jitsu and possesses very good stand up as well. In his 19 (16 wins) professional fights Oliveira has only gone to the judges once. Oliveira has the tools to make a run in any division, he is young (22) and has some good height (5’10″) for his division. Oliveira always seems to improve when he steps into the octagon as his last two fight have produced two wins by submission and one sub of the night bonus.

The one time hot young prospect will look to continue his rise in the featherweight division to open the UFC 152 main card this Saturday night.

Oliveira’s opponent will be looking to knock the young prospect down the ladder a few rungs while giving himself a three fight streak, making himself a top contender. Swanson, the former WEC stand out, is 2-1 in the UFC and will be one of Oliveira’s toughest fights to date. Swanson is an all around fighter that loves to stand and bang. He does posses a good ground game, but nothing close to Oliveira so he’ll definitely look to keep this fight standing.

Come this Saturday these two fighters will go to war, but only one will come out on top. Will Cub Swanson and his strong stand up get his hand raised, or will the young Charles Oliveira be too much for him to handle?

Tune in this Saturday for 12 bouts of UFC action including this exciting featherweight bout at UFC 152 from Toronto, Canada.
