The UFC has lost main event after main event lately. It seems like everyone is getting bit by the injury bug, and it’s happened again. Hector Lombard was supposed to meet Brian Stann but that’s not happening. Tim Boetsch was supposed to meet Michael Bisping in Calgary at UFC 149, but that’s not happening now either. Here’s who will meet and how long the injuries will keep the fighters sidelined.

No Room at the Top – The UFC’s 170 Pound Problem

If everything had gone to plan, the UFC would have GSP on the mend, Carlos Condit and Jake Ellenberger meeting for the interim title and a pecking order of two or three fighters behind them. However, some well-placed knees by Martin Kampmann changed all of that. Now the UFC has an interesting issue, too many qualified contenders. Not the worst problem to have, unless you're a fighter on the list waiting your turn.

UFC 146 Afterthoughts – What’s next for the UFC’s Big Boys?

Brock Lesnar was in attendance at UFC 146 this past Saturday night as the UFC put forth it’s biggest foot, hosting a night of PPV Heavyweight action. With Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez and Roy Nelson’s performances Saturday night, it’s insulting to them that the MMA spotlight shines on a professional wrestler whose last significant victory was in 2010. So let’s focus on the some of the guys who battled it out for our enjoyment and leave the enquiries with Lesnar for another day.

Pat Curran is a pocket-sized rock’em sock’em robot. The Bellator 145 pound kingpin earned his title by destroying Joe Warren at Bellator 60. Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is 17-1 and his lone loss was a disputed split decision loss to former champion Joe Warren. When these two combustible agents meet on August 24th, an MMA explosion is the sure fire result.
