With Josh Samman getting a win over Tor, it essentially gave Team Jones the last two TUF 17 match-up selections for the opening round. They decided that Clint Hester and Jimmy Quinlan would fight first, which left Dylan and myself for the last preliminary fight. After the fight, Team Jones sat in the locker room talking a little bit about Bubba having the wildcard for sure and that they felt it would be a “Jones Finale.”
After Kelvin won a huge upset over the veteran Bubba in the previous week’s TUF 17 episode, Team Darkside matched up Tor “The Hammer” Troeng versus Josh Samman. This episode starts off with Bubba being very hard on himself but giving tons of credit to Kelvin for never stopping and having no quit in him.
With Collin’s win over Kevin during last week’s TUF 17 episode, Team Jones gained control of the fight pick. Bubba who was the most experienced in the house picked out Kelvin who was the youngest in the house. We actually thought this was going to be the first matchup in week one, but they went after Luke instead. Kelvin was so sure he was fighting he actually ran out to the face-off in week one.
The TUF 17 episode starts off with Adam coming back from the hospital and about jumps into the shower with Uriah cracking jokes and being his normal self. He said he didn’t really remember that he even fought. I still feel like he was doing pretty well before that knockout, Adam gained a lot of respect from all of us.
Week three starts off with recapping Luke’s sick flying knee to keep control of the TUF 17 fight selections for Team Sonnen. Bubba calls out “King” but Team Sonnen matches up Uriah Hall vs. Adam Cella. Team Jones seems pretty excited about the match up. They said that this is the exact matchup they wanted, which we all laughed about since Bubba obviously wanted Kevin Casey next.
So at the end of the Premiere we moved on to the team picks. A coin was flipped and Chael Sonnen won the toss, he chose to pick the first fighter, which was Luke Barnatt. This meant that Jon Jones (Little JJ as Chael calls him) got to pick the first fight match up. Jon decided to go right after our number one pick and matched up the shortest guy in the house, Gilbert “Jamal” “Gigantoooooor” Smith against the tallest man in the house, Luke “The European Gangster” Barnatt. Obviously after watching the episode the rest of Team Jones was not on board with this pick.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale Weigh-in Pictures
Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.

The long grind of the first live version of The Ultimate Fighter ends tonight at the TUF Live Finale in Las Vegas. Featuring 12 of the 16 TUF Live contestants, the 10 bout card will be headlined by an important match-up in the welterweight division between Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann.

All the fighters for tomorrow’s TUF Live Finale were on weight as they stepped onto the scales inside the Pearl at the Palms. The 20 fighters, including 12 of the 16 TUF Live fighters will begin entering the Octagon tomorrow starting at 2:45pm PT / 5:45pm ET.
