Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz Will be a Five Round Main Event at UFC on FOX 3

Great news for MMA fans, in that the recently announced bout of Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz for the UFC on FOX 3 has been announced as shows main event and will be a five round contest. Miller is clawing his way back to where he stood in the rankings for the better part of 2011, and Diaz is doing just what the Diaz brothers are famous for, beating people up, and then demanding higher level opposition.

It’s rare when the rankings don’t see any changes but the outcomes from fights held in the month of January didn’t changes things in any division. That might have due to the fact only four fighters in our top five ranks actually fought last month. Not to worry though because February will see nine top five fighters step into the cage, including three fights where both competitors are ranked.

UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis Medical Suspensions

Coming away from last week’s UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis event, the fighters on the card walked away fairly healthy. A total of just eight fighters were given medical suspensions by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, ranging from 30 to 60 days.

The division has been ruled by Georges St. Pierre since the end of 2006, with only a brief reign by Matt Serra mixed in there.
