Upon earning a second chance in the UFC, Middleweight Jorge Santiago (24-10) quickly had his hopes of a resurgence extinguished as he went 0-2 and was once again released from the company. Between his two stints in the UFC, a combined thirteen months, Santiago composed a less than impressive 1-4 record, with three of those losses coming by way of knockout.
Titan Fighting Championship 22 was partially overshadowed this week by the news that Anthony Johnson was again treating his contracted weight more as a guideline than a rule. However, this was a solid card, loaded with stoppages and fun fights. Here’s what went down tonight in the cage in Kansas City.

Titan Fighting Championship announced today who Anthony “Rumble” Johnson would be facing in his promotional debut at TFC 22. The former UFC welterweight and middleweight will take on another former UFC middleweight in David Branch. The two will headline the night’s card on Friday May 25 live from Memorial Hall in Kansas City.
It didn’t take long for Anthony “Rumble” Johnson for find a new cage to home. Johnson and Titan Fighting Championship revealed that the former UFC welterweight and middleweight has sign with Titan and will headline their upcoming TFC 22 card on May 25th.
The UFC is often referred to as the “Big show” and along with the bright lights, there is much tougher competition. When you reach the highest level of competition like the UFC, the skills and greatness a fighter has shown to get to the top sometimes just doesn’t materialize. Such was the case for the former Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago.
Former UFC middleweight and Sengoku Champion Jorge Santiago will make his first appearance back in a cage since being released from the UFC (for the 2nd time) on March 2nd. “The Sandman” will be making his Titan Fighting Championship debut against fellow Brazilian Leonardo Pecanha in the main event of TFC 21. The event will take place inside the Memorial Hall, with the main card being televised live on HDNet starting at 6pm PT/9pm ET.
The fight card changed more than even their own website could keep up with, but that didn’t stop the fights from being exciting. Two fighters came into tonight looking to make an impression on those possibly watching, in hopes it would land them back in the big show. When it was all said and done though, they went home wondering what happened and a late replacement burst onto the scene.
