Five potential fights for St Pierre, Not Named Anderson Silva

It’s inevitable that when talking about the UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, phrases like “Cleaned out the division” and “super fight” will come up.

Georges St. Pierre (22-2) successfully defended his title for a UFC welterweight record sixth consecutive time by defeating Jake Shields by unanimous decision at this weekend’s UFC 129. The beloved Canadian improved his record to 9-2 in UFC title fights and a staggering 17-2 overall in the UFC.

Johny Hendricks to Meet Mike Pierce at UFC 133

Two of the tougher Welterweights in the UFC, Johny Hendricks and Mike Pierce are scheduled to meet at UFC 133.  Johny Hendricks lost his first career fight to Rick Story back at the Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale, but rebounded with a victory over TJ Waldburger at UFC Fight Night Seattle.

Shoulder Surgery Shelves Jon Fitch up to Six Months

Jon Fitch had hoped his injured shoulder, suffered during his last fight against BJ Penn would only need physical therapy but unfortunately this will not be the case. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter got bad news yesterday that he’ll need to go under the knife and have shoulder surgery that will keep him out of action for up to six months.

Fitch Took an almost identical approach as his fellow AKA teammate Cain Velasquez who also suffered a similar shoulder injury in his fight with Brock Lesnar. As most of the AKA fighters are, both Fitch and Velasquez love to train yet will now have to stay clear of training to allow time to heal.

Carlos Condit to face Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 132

When Jon Fitch was forced to pull out of his bout with BJ Penn at UFC 132, Carlos Condit lobbied to get onto the card, replacing Fitch against Penn. The former WEC welterweight champion will get his wish of being on the fight card but his opponent will not be Penn as he also withdrew from the fight card. Condit instead will face the undefeated South Korean Dong Hyun Kim (14-0-1) on July 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.
