CageSport XIII Event Coverage and Results

CageSport XIII took place Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd in Tacoma, WA.  It was an entertaining, action packed card from top to bottom, with a main event of the night featuring a clash between Landon Showalter and Justin Davis.  While Showalter sports a less than remarkable 6-11 record, it’s important to note that he’s been in the cage with the likes of UFC veterans such as Robbie Lawler, Brad Blackburn, Drew Fickett, Chris Leben, Dennis Hallman, Matt Lindland, Steve Bruno, and Pete Sell, holding victories over Bruno and Fickett.   His adversary this evening was “Dangerous” Justin Davis who many believed would be outgunned against the talented and battle tested Showalter.   It didn’t turn out to be the case.

UFC 112: Invincible Predictions / Giveaway!

The long ten day wait will finally be over come Saturday when the UFC enters Abu Dhabi for the first time with UFC 112. This is also the second PPV card in a row by the UFC to have two title fights on the card. This time around we will have Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva make his 7th title defense against Demian Maia in the main event. The Co-main event will be Lightweight champ BJ Penn making his 3rd title defense vs Frankie Edgar. The third big fight on this card put the former Welterweight champ Matt Hughes against another member of the Gracie Family, Renzo Gracie.

Tired of fighters excuses

These days more and more fighters take the easy way out when they lose and blame it on something other then themselves. Whether its an injury they had before the fight, over training or a bad call by the ref, its always something. Too few fighters actually man up and say they made a mistake or just got caught these days that’s its getting ridiculous. If it’s not Tito Ortiz claiming he had a “broken skull” or BJ Penn crying “grease-gate” its Josh Koscheck claiming the ref stopped it early even though his eyes rolled into the back of his head. It goes on and on with excuse after excuse and I’m getting rather tired of them to be honest.

WEC 46 & UFN 20 recap

The bliss of two event in 24 hours has now past and we are left with the aftermath of some great fights. Its rare for two events to be back to back like this but when they happen it a treat. Both events were really entertaining featuring allot of close match ups that went to the judges. Even though allot of the fights when to the judges they were very good fights and the judges got them right too. After starting out 5-5 on the year I turned things around going 14-6-1 for the two events bringing me up to 19-11-1.
