Heading into the final two fights of last night’s slow moving UFC on FUEL TV 8, the event looked destined to be a flop. Eight consecutive decisions including 4 split decisions had the fans inside the Saitama Super Arena and watching at home extremely restless. UFC President Dana White said it best when he tweeted “Next two fights hopefully save the night. BRUTAL!”

The Axe Murderer, Wanderlei Silva (34-12-1) returns to Japan for the first time since 2006 in the hopes of taking out Brian Stann (12-5) and reviving his crumbling legacy at UFC on Fuel TV 8. For the second time in just over a year the UFC returns to the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. A place Wanderlei Silva has fought 13 times prior to this weekend.

While the majority of the fights on last night's Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine card appeared one-sided on paper, the middleweight bout between Tim Kennedy and Trevor Smith wasn't one of them. Sure Kennedy had the name recognition and betting line behind him but his opponent was not push over and he proved that during their bout.
