The sixth season for Bellator has been very exciting through the first four events, featuring some of the year’s best fights and most brutal knockouts. Tonight’s Bellator 64 main card on MTV2 was an off night for the promotion with all four fights going the distance.
Two more names were added to the list of Bellator Tournament champions at last night’s Bellator 57. The finals in the middleweight and welterweight tournament headlined the promotions second trip to Canada and the Casino Rama in Rama. Ontario.
After a week away Bellator returns to action this weekend with two tournament finals headlining Bellator 57. Title shots are on the line as new tournament champions will be crowned in the welterweight and middleweight divisions.
The featherweight tournament is now down to just two fighters as the semifinals are now in the books and the finals are set. The televised portion of Bellator 47 featured the two semifinal tournament bouts along with two other special attraction fights.
This past week, we saw the WEC era come to an end. As bittersweet as it was, many extraordinary fights took place as the event ran its course. The two things that stick out in most people minds were Ken Stone being knocked out cold be Eddie Wineland from a slam and of course the crazy cage kick from Anthony Pettis in the main event.
Thursday December 16, World Extreme Cagefighting will be hosting their final event due to the recent merger with the UFC. The upcoming WEC 53 card will help end the year and the promotion with a bang as both the Bantamweight and Lightweight titles are both on the line.
Ed “9mm” Ratcliff (7-2MMA) was forced out of WEC 49 on the 20th of this month for undisclosed reasons forcing a scramble from top WEC executives
The main event is Donald Cerrone vs. Ed Ratcliff and it should be a very entertaining fight.
