The Ultimate Fighter Live format has come and gone. After 14 tape delayed seasons the reality series moved to FX, changed days and went Live. The new format brought Live elimination bouts each week and was supposed to rejuvenate the series, but that didn’t happen and the second season on FX will be going back to the tape delayed format.
This Friday night the UFC brings the Flyweight rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall to Florida as the headliner of UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall. The event landed in Florida as part of the Harley Davidson Home Town Throw down and if the judges can add correctly will determine who will face Joseph Benavidez in the first ever UFC Flyweight title fight. The UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall card will feature 12 bouts overall, with a main card of four.
The biggest MMA news to date was dropped today as the Ultimate Fighting Championship signed a network television deal with FOX and its sister stations FX and Fuel TV. While rumors of the deal had surfaced earlier this week, the formal announcement was made today at the NFL on Fox studio in Los Angeles, California.
