With just two days away from the Strikeforce event it’s time for my predictions. I’m going to only predict the main card plus the Werdum fight since that was on the main card at one time. I only got 5 of 11 last event [UFC 101]. That was the first installment so I’m 5-6 overall.

Jay Hieron over JT Money
Fabricio Werdum over Mike Kyle
The fight card that is coming up on the 15th is just now being finalized after being shuffled more then a deck of cards. The only fight on the main card that hasn’t changed is the main event of Carano vs. Cyborg. The other fights on the main card have all changed at least once. These changes happen all to frequently with strikeforce plus the undercards usually don’t get finalized tell about a week or two before the fight date. No one likes paying for tickets only to have the card change several times. You won’t get return customers that way for sure.
In a little over a week the biggest Female MMA bout will take place at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg. Gina “Conviction” Carano will face off against her so called biggest rival Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos for the newly created 145lbs. belt. This is a big fight for both Strikeforce and for Female’s in MMA but I can’t help but wonder if we really want to see this. Now female’s in boxing really never worked and seem more like a side show then fight. What makes people think that it will work in MMA where it’s more damaging, bloody and physical? I never cared to watch female boxing but I have watched female MMA fights. Most of those fights though had Gina Carano in them. We all know that she is HOT so I’d be fooling myself to think I was watching it for any other reason.
So as fans are we watching this fight because it’s a major step for female fighters or because the American Gladiator [Crush] is fighting?
