The first week on the year seemed awfully quiet in the MMA world, maybe it was the holiday hangover but thankfully the weekend brought fans Invicta FC 4. This weekend though is when things really begin to take off in the month of January. Strikeforce will hold their final event on Showtime before the ZUFFA owned promotion rolls into the UFC.

The MFC 33: Collision Course canvas started out a clean bright white but when the night had concluded it was blood soaked red. The night’s final two bouts were brutal fights that resulted in some serious blood loss that painted the canvas red.

MFC 32: Bitter Rivals Live Results

Tonight Maximum Fighting Championship will hold their first event of 2012 with MFC 32: Bitter Rivals from the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. The event will also mark the promotions final card inside a ring as starting with MFC 33 they will begin permanently using a cage. The event was to feature a lightweight title fight in the co-main event but another fighter missing weight changed those plans.

From the small confines of the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada the Maximum Fighting Championship held its 3oth event. Putting on fights in Canada for nearly 10 years, the president of MFC Mark Pavelich announced a new five year deal with HDNet to continue airing MFC events.
