Tonight’s Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy event will be the third major event in the span of a single week. With the UFC playing host for the first two events, Strikeforce gets their turn in the spotlight from inside the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.
Saturday’s Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy closes out what has already been a great week of Mixed Martial Arts. It all started with the UFC Fan Expo and UFC 148 in Las Vegas last weekend, moved to San Jose, California for Wednesday’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 and concludes in Portland, Oregon tomorrow.
Coming up this Saturday night, July 14, Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy will be brought to you from inside the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Strikeforce put on a show and to make up for that, they’re giving us not one, but two, title fights. Though the future of the promotion is always in question, Strikeforce continues to crank out high-quality fights with their remaining roster, Saturday’s Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy being no exception. Two titles are on the line, as Luke Rockhold finally meets Tim Kennedy in defense of his Middleweight title, while Nate Marquardt and Tyron Woodley will vie for the vacant Welterweight title. Showtime subscriptions are expensive though, so let’s try to make a bit of cash to pay that cable bill.
On the heels of a great night of fights earlier this month in San Jose, Strikeforce returns to action July 14th in Portland, Oregon. Joining them at the Rose Garden Arena will be two title fights and two intriguing bouts on the main card as well as a local favorite headlining the preliminary card.
The knockout, it’s a fan favorite and something every fighter loves to do yet doesn’t want to be on the wrong side of it as the same time. A knockout is a violent thing of beauty for one fighter but an ungraceful disappointment for the one lying on the canvas wondering what just happened. The dust has settled from Saturday’s Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine card in Las Vegas and despite some questionable decisions from the judges and referee’s, the fighters put on a show for the fans in attendance. Things started out with four undercard bouts premiering on Showtime Extreme which lead into the night’s five card main event on Showtime.
Airing their prelims for the first time on Showtime Extreme, Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine kicked off their 2012 year with the full card airing on free TV. To take in one step further its a free preview weekend for showtime so even if you don’t have Showtime there is no excuse to NOT watch tonight’s card.
