Muhammed King Mo Lawal Joins AKA

Muhammed Lawal, otherwise known as King MO made the most drastic move of his heavily trained career finding peace at a new training camp known as the American Kickboxing Academy. AKA is a San Jose invite only gym that holds many of the world’s top fighters like Cain Velasquez, Jon Fitch, Justin Wilcox, Josh Koscheck, Mike Kyle, Cung le, and many more. The camp has the strongest wrestling base of fighters in MMA and with Lawal’s world training expeditions he will provide another set of tips and tricks while filling in what flaws he may need to work out of his own game.

With the recent purchase of Strikeforce by Zuffa LLC, parent company to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, thoughts of potential dream matches started to dance around in fans and media minds alike. Lets recap the First Ever MMA Expo in Detroit

The first ever MMA Expo in Detroit, MI was held on Sunday, September 5th , 2010 at the MGM Grand Casino in downtown Detroit.  The event featured meet and greets and autograph signings with special guests “Suga” Rashad Evans, Muhammed “KingMO” Lawal, Referee Herb Dean and Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson.  There were wrestling/grappling demonstrations, referee demonstrations and other special guests from the Michigan MMA scene. 

Strikeforce: Houston the aftermath

As Strikeforce: Houston came to a close Saturday night; fans were left to pick their jaws up from off the ground following two upsets and poor refereeing again.  Not to mention a very close championship fight that many thought went the wrong way on the judge’s card.

Strikeforce: Houston results The King dethroned

Strikeforce Houston was one of the better cards that Strikeforce has offered the fans.  The main event and co-main event were both title fights that on paper were sure to be very exciting fights.  The main event was for the Light Heavyweight Championship with Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal defending his championship against challenger and number one contender Rafael Cavalcante.
