Often these hyped up MMA events fall flat come fight night but tonight’s UFC on FOX 5 lived up and maybe even exceeded the hype. You knew the night was going to be good when Scott Jorgensen and John Albert opened the show with an exciting 4:59 of action that would end up being “Fight of the Night”.

Saturday’s UFC on FOX 5 will be the fourth event this year on FOX and only the second time the network televised event will be headlined by a title fight. UFC on FOX 5 will have the traditional four bouts on FOX is headlined by the lightweight champion Benson Henderson making his second title defense against Ultimate Fighter winner Nate Diaz.

Fan favorite Mike Swick, has signed a four fight extension with the UFC and will face Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 5 on December 8th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. Swick spread the news via. his twitter account (@officialswick). Swick last fought in August against DeMarques Johnson, earning his second knockout of the night honors with a second round KO.
It’s Friday night and the weekend is locked and loaded with MMA action, starting with the UFC on FX 4 from Atlantic City, New Jersey. This free card is headlined by a lightweight five round non-title main event between Clay Guida and Gray Maynard in a battle to stay above water in the 155 pound division.
The fighters for tomorrows UFC on FX 4 took to the scale tonight inside the same venue they will be fighting tomorrow and all but one of the 24 fighters successfully made weight. Preliminary card fighter C.J. Keith weighed in at 157 pounds for his lightweight bout with Ramsey Nijem and will be fined a hefty 20% of his purse.
