Often these hyped up MMA events fall flat come fight night but tonight’s UFC on FOX 5 lived up and maybe even exceeded the hype. You knew the night was going to be good when Scott Jorgensen and John Albert opened the show with an exciting 4:59 of action that would end up being “Fight of the Night”.

Three fighters missed weight on their first try at today’s pre-fight weigh-ins for tomorrows UFC on FOX 5. The three will have two hours to shed off those final tough pounds, but for one of them it could mean whether or not a title is one the line.
Two days before the UFC on FOX 5 takes place in the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington the UFC held a press conference. Oddly enough the news that came out of this press conference had little to nothing to do with the fights on Saturday night.

Saturday’s UFC on FOX 5 will be the fourth event this year on FOX and only the second time the network televised event will be headlined by a title fight. The first ever FOX card was headlined by the heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos but only featured one televised bout. UFC on FOX 5 will have the traditional four bouts on FOX is headlined by the lightweight champion Benson Henderson making his second title defense against Ultimate Fighter winner Nate Diaz.
The holidays are upon us, and nothing saves money for Christmas like a title fight on free TV. This time, UFC on Fox brings up a top-notch card, featuring a Lightweight title bid between Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz, a contender fight between Shogun and Gustafsson, and a grudge match between Penn and MacDonald.

Fan favorite Mike Swick, has signed a four fight extension with the UFC and will face Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 5 on December 8th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. Swick spread the news via. his twitter account (@officialswick). Swick last fought in August against DeMarques Johnson, earning his second knockout of the night honors with a second round KO.
