The UFC on FX 1 Card is Filling up Quickly

The UFC announced three fights today for their January 20th inaugural UFC on FX event from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller, with the undercard expected to air on Fuel TV.

After dropping 3 of his last 4 fights under the Zuffa umbrella former WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Thomas Brown came into Philly with his back up against the wall at UFC 133. This is a guy who held a place on many folks Top 10 Pound 4 Pound List after his 2nd straight victory of Urijah Faber back in the Summer of 2009. Brown has since dropped one too many fights being pushed out of the Top 10 Featherweight Rankings and looking to save his job against Nam Phan this past Saturday Night.

UFC 133 takes place tomorrow night live from Philadelphia, PA and for many, it’s a chance to get into title contention or move further up the ladder to bigger fights, bigger paydays and more opportunity.  However for a few fighters, this is a do or die situation.  A win will allow them a fresh breath in the UFC while a loss will find them likely unemployed and looking for work on the smaller shows.

One Promotions Trash, is Another Promotions Treasure

Some say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. What one could disregard and think of it as nothing, someone may have the need or desire for the item and feel a necessity for it. Today with numerous promotions vying for attention and respect outside of the goliath entity of Zuffa, brands like: Bellator, Dream, MFC or the resurrected ProElite are benefiting from the failures and losses of fighters careers’. It is almost as if there is a parallel fight between the fighters going for championships and their respectful brands fighting for dominance.
