Koscheck out of UFC 109 [Updated]

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fightingis reporting that Josh Koscheck is out of his UFC 109 rematch against Paulo Thiago. Koscheck himself confirmed the news via his twitter account stating he’ll be “back to training in a couple weeks I hope!!” Coming off his submission victory of Anthony Johnson at UFC 106 Koscheck looked to avenge his lose to Thiago he suffered February at UFC 95.

A few thoughts on UFC 106

UFC 106 is now in the books and last night was an interested night of fights. We had a draw, a few upsets and some points deducted too. With all that happened I was only 4-5-1 on my picks. I’m now officially in a slump and need to figure out a way to turn things around. My third losing event in a row has put my overall at 62-43-1.

Amir Sadollah looked really good last night against Phil Baroni as he actually out striked the powerful Baroni. Sadollah won the fight and it was hardly on the ground which many would have thought that would of favored Baroni. Sadollah’s Muay Thai was really solid and he just dominated the fight from start to finish.

UFC 103 disappointment

I have been on vacation the last few days and today I get back on see that Mike Swick has pulled out of his fight at UFC 103 with Martin Kampmann. Swick suffered a Concussion, which will not allow him to fight in two weeks. I’m really bummed because this fight looked to be a great one. Both fighters are very entertaining and always look to finish the fight. The winner would have been considered the number one contender at the welterweight division.

Kampmann will remain on the UFC 103 fight card where he will face recently signed Paul “Semtex” Daley. Swick has already stated he would be ready to fight by UFC 104.
