UFC on FOX 7: Henderson vs. Melendez Bold Predictions

The UFC makes its return to San Jose, California this weekend with the UFC on FOX 7, sporting a main card with a UFC vs. Strikeforce feel to it. The four UFC on FOX 7 bout on the main card feature one UFC veteran against a former Strikeforce fighter, which seems only fitting since they are in the old stomping grounds of the once #2 Mixed Martial Arts promotion in the United States.

The Fight Report: UFC on FOX 7

We're in the middle of a long schedule of UFC action, and the king of FOX fights, Benson Henderson, is once again on deck in Saturday’s UFC on Fox 7 main event. Having handily defeated Nate Diaz in his last outing, he'll look to keep his belt away from the next contender from the Scrap Pack, as Gilbert Melendez makes his UFC debut. We also have another Lightweight fight for the ages, as Josh Thomson returns to the UFC to take on Nate Diaz.

MMA Nemesis Top Ten 2012

In 1967, Murray Woroner had an idea for a program, where the greatest heavyweight boxers in history would fight each other to the delight of radio audiences. Considering boxing had been around, in various forms of rule-sets and legality, for a hundred years, this was a colossal undertaking. With the aid of 250 boxing experts, sixteen of the greatest pugilists in history were selected and given scores in 128 attributes ranging from punching power, to footwork, to confidence. These numbers were then fed into a state-of-the-art computer, very similar to the Spike TV series The Deadliest Warrior, and each fight was virtually simulated. When the dust settled at the end of several weeks of prime time programming, Rocky Marciano defeated Muhammad Ali to become the Greatest Heavyweight Boxer Ever. The problem was, basically no one, including the boxing experts involved in the project, agreed with this.

UFC on FOX 5 Lives up to the Hype!

Often these hyped up MMA events fall flat come fight night but tonight’s UFC on FOX 5 lived up and maybe even exceeded the hype. You knew the night was going to be good when Scott Jorgensen and John Albert opened the show with an exciting 4:59 of action that would end up being “Fight of the Night”.

MMA Rankings for December 2012

Things have been slow the last few months with regards to change amongst the MMA rankings. Injuries to champions and top fighters along with dominate champions have limited the movement but things are beginning to pick up. In November the UFC saw one of its champions return to action after a long layoff due to injury and the final month of the year will see many highly ranked fighters step into the cage.
