Done with Anderson Silva…and I’m not the only one!

Another UFC is in the books now and we were treated to the debacle known as an Anderson Silva title fight. What was suppose to be a classic Top level striking vs. Top level grappler match up turned out to be a slap in the face for MMA. The UFC’s first card held in Abu Dhabi was rounding out to be a card to remember with Matt Hughes chopping down another Gracie in Renzo and The Lightweight Division crowning a new Champ in Frankie Edgar. Unfortunately all that is being talked about and what most will remember first is the Middleweight champs act once again.

UFC 112: Invincible Predictions / Giveaway!

The long ten day wait will finally be over come Saturday when the UFC enters Abu Dhabi for the first time with UFC 112. This is also the second PPV card in a row by the UFC to have two title fights on the card. This time around we will have Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva make his 7th title defense against Demian Maia in the main event. The Co-main event will be Lightweight champ BJ Penn making his 3rd title defense vs Frankie Edgar. The third big fight on this card put the former Welterweight champ Matt Hughes against another member of the Gracie Family, Renzo Gracie.

2 great cards in 2 weeks

The UFC has stacked two fight cards that will happen over the span of two weeks in March/April. These two events could have up to 4 title fights (interim Heavyweight) and should be solid from top to bottom. (*=not official)

UFC 111 will take place March 27th and will mark the return to New Jersey for the first time in over two years. Coming back to New Jersey is not the real reason to put on the mega event that reason lay northeast in New York. The UFC is desperately trying to get MMA legalized in New York and the counsel is suppose to vote later this year regarding MMA. The theory is that if they put on this mega show, it sells out and New Jersey loves it the NY counsel will see the dollar signs and legalize it. With the card announced so far it will easily selling out and make a ton of money so I see this tactic working

Which signing is the best?

kjnoons_hdsht copyToday we saw numerous signing by both the UFC and Strikeforce as Melvin Manoef, Renzo Gracie and KJ Noons all signed. Strikeforce was able to snag two of them in Melvin Manoef and KJ Noons. The UFC finally signed Renzo Gracie as rumors of the signing have been swirling for weeks. With three signings in one day between the big two promotions I pose the question which signing is the best?
