The rare slow weekend left very few options for MMA fans but the inaugural GWC (Global Warrior Challenge) event looked to quench the fans thirst. Featuring several former UFC, Strikeforce and BAMMA veterans, the GWC fight card wasn’t short on recognizable names.

The inaugural event from Global Warrior Challenge, titled The British Invasion: US vs. UK, takes place tomorrow from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri and features several recognizable names. While the title makes you think the “British are coming”, its actuality the first in a series of country versus country events to be put on by Global Warrior Challenge.
It’s no doubt that Fedor Emelianenko at 31-4 was one of the best heavyweight fighters ever to grace combat sports. Now that he has turned out three depressing loses in a row, many fans have turned their backs on him and demanded him to hang them up. While many fans might disagree, the fight has not left “The Last Emperor” and he will continue to fight.
Do you remember the night Ricco Rodriguez became the UFC Heavyweight champion? It was back in 2002 at UFC 39. He defeated Randy Couture by landing a series of elbows that damaged the eye socket of Couture and forced him to tapout. That was nearly ten years ago.
It’s all over, the Bellator summer is all over. Following a successful fourth season, it’s first on MTV2, Bellator introduced its summer series to bridge season four and five. The three-part series concluded tonight with the final for the summer series featherweight tournament.
The inaugural Bellator Summer Series comes to a conclusion this Saturday from the familiar confines of the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The three event series featured a featherweight tournament that is set to conclude, along with a handful of special attraction bouts. Bellator 48 will send the Summer Series out in style with the featherweight tournament final and three special attraction bouts.
