Phil Davis out of UFC 133 with Knee Injury

Phil Davis is out of UFC 133 with a knee injury, this according to MMA Fighting who broke the story.   At this point, it is unclear as to how this will affect Rashad Evans, but it won’t be easy to find a suitable replacement on some three weeks notice.  Tito Ortiz just fought and wasn’t injured, perhaps he’d like a shot to redeem himself against Evans.  Not to beat a dead horse, but this could also open the way for a fight between Champion Jon Jones and number one contender Rashad Evans at UFC 134.

It’s just the start on June but tickets for UFC 133 on August 6th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA are going on sale this week. Headlined by a light heavyweight showdown with the former UFC champion Rashad Evans taking on the fast raising prospect Phil Davis.

Johny Hendricks to Meet Mike Pierce at UFC 133


Two of the tougher Welterweights in the UFC, Johny Hendricks and Mike Pierce are scheduled to meet at UFC 133.  Johny Hendricks lost his first career fight to Rick Story back at the Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale, but rebounded with a victory over TJ Waldburger at UFC Fight Night Seattle.

The UFC 133 announcements keep coming and the latest one is a great fight between Rich Franklin and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in Philadelphia in August.  The loser of this fight could find themselves on the outside of the UFC, looking in.   With a combined 59 fights and only 11 losses between them, you can’t blame a loss on inexperience, both guys know what this fight means.

When it was all said and done the UFC gave fans 10 or the 11 fights between the PPV, Spike TV and Facebook. Sorry Mike Pierce and Kenny Robertson guess the UFC wanted to leave one fight on aired for the upcoming DVD.
