With three weeks until Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy in Sacramento, the promotion is starting to put together their next show on November 3rd. Heavyweights Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir now have a date set for the final Heavyweight bout under the Strikeforce banner as they will headline the Oklahoma City card.
Tonight’s Invicta FC 2 was only the second show the all female promotion has put on but you won’t know this if not for the “2” in the title. Invicta and the ladies that stepped into the cage at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas put on a great show tonight with some of the better fights of the year.
Recently a new fight promotion came into the still expanding MMA scene with an all women’s format and Professional fights that deliver great entertainment. Still on the forefront of what could be the biggest shift in women’s professional mixed martial arts ever, Invicta FC takes the simple approach to providing the best possible match making available while building solid divisional formats and stars.
At last night’s ProElite: Grove vs. Minowaman from the Neil S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii Main event fighter Kendall Grove looked at home. Walking into the cage against the Japanese sensation Minowaman, the Ultimate Fighter season 3 winner looked more focused and determined than he ever has.
Sara McMann’s recent performance at the ProElite event in Hawaii was a prime example as to why we should all keep an eye on her in the future. Being relatively new to the sport of MMA gave me a chance to inquire about her start in MMA, as well as gain some insight as to what makes her tick both inside the cage and out.
ProElite got their first event back since the EliteXC days in the books Saturday night from the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. While a bit shaking at time and some questionable choices (Jens Pulver’s shirt), the ProElite: Arlovski vs. Lopez card was entertaining and exciting.
After a long hiatus from the world of Mixed Martial Arts promoting, ProElite returns this Saturday holding their first event to be held under its umbrella since EliteXC: A Night of Champions in November of 2008. Founded in 2006, Pro Elite promoted live MMA events broadcast on CBS, Showtime and Showtime PPV under the EliteXC promotional banner. ProElite v2.0 though currently doesn’t have a broadcast deal and Saturday’s event will not be televised or streamed online.
From the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas and airing live on HDNet, Titan Fighting Championship returned for its 19th event. While the card didn’t have big name recognition as past TFC events, it was filled with several tightly contested bouts, resulting in several fights going the distance.
