Last night’s Invicta FC 6 marked the promotions first real PPV appearance and it will be very interesting to see the number later the week. The night was headlined by a featherweight champion bout between former Strikeforce champions Cristiane Cyborg and Marloes Coenen but unfortunately also saw a somewhat controversial decision against Ashley Cummings.

The all female MMA promotion Invicta held their first event of the New Year from Kansas City, KS last night with Invicta 4. The 13 bout fight card aired live on Internet Pay Per View, but issues with the stream forced the promotion to make Invicta 4 free. Hopefully the stream worked for you because once again the ladies of Invicta shined.
Tonight’s Invicta FC 2 was only the second show the all female promotion has put on but you won’t know this if not for the “2” in the title. Invicta and the ladies that stepped into the cage at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas put on a great show tonight with some of the better fights of the year.
Recently a new fight promotion came into the still expanding MMA scene with an all women’s format and Professional fights that deliver great entertainment. Still on the forefront of what could be the biggest shift in women’s professional mixed martial arts ever, Invicta FC takes the simple approach to providing the best possible match making available while building solid divisional formats and stars.
With the talk of what could possibly happen to the women’s division in Strikeforce due to what looks like Strikeforce’s eventual closing, its left everyone wondering if it would mean the end of WMMA in North America with the exception of the occasional fight from Bellator. Enter Invicta FC, where former Strikeforce matchmaker Shannon Knapp decided that an all-female promotion could be exactly what is needed to keep WMMA alive and well.
This Saturday, Invicta Fighting Championships will hold its debut show in Kansas City, KS. The card features accomplished women, such as, former 135-pound Strikeforce champion, Marloes Coenen, as well as, former title challenger Liz Carmouche.
Back at its new home in Las Vegas, Strikeforce Challengers 18 brought a five bout main card to Showtime. Headlined by a lightweight scrap between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte that many thought would be a slugfest. While their bout was a lot more controlled than anyone figured, their 15 minute battle ended the night in entertaining fashion.
