UFC 142 was filled with equal parts decisions, knockouts and submissions that made picking the Fight Night bonuses a little more difficult than normal. Take away the questionable disqualification Erick Silva that gave Carlo Prater the win there were there decisions, (T)KO’s and submissions.
Last night’s UFC 136 was an awesome night of action and one of the fights that I had my eyes most closely glued to was the match-up between Melvin Guillard and Joe Lauzon. The Lightweight division in the UFC has slowed to a dead stop over the past year as a result of the trilogy of fights that evolved out of the seemingly never-ending war between UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. After Edgar and Maynard’s last fight ended in a draw and both fighters suffered post fight injuries the entire 155 lb. division seemed to freeze in time.
Two title fights anchored the UFC 136 fight card but it was the three fights leading up to the title fights that stole the show. Besides stealing the show, they also stole two of the three “Fight Night Bonuses” that were each worth 75k.
Chris Lytle is “Lights Out” by his style of putting opponents out and now by deciding when to turn the lights off on his career, on his own terms. Walking away Sunday night, he leaves with a submission win over Dan Hardy and $130,000 in his pocket after recording a record 9th & 10th post fight bonuses in the organization.
UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry had a little bit of everything and while many were unexpected there was one thing that shouldn’t have surprised anyone, Joe Lauzon went home with a bonus. Lauzon took on the Wolfslair trained Curt Warburton as part of the Facebook streamed preliminary card and walked away with a Submission of the Night bonus.
A good night of fights tonight at UFC 109 with some good finishes sprinkled in with alot of decisions. The finish by Randy Couture was a bit of a pleasant suprise as many thought he’d win but by a decision and to pull out a submission was nice.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.
