The Bellator summer series now has the light heavyweight tournament final pairing all set after tonight Bellator 72. Travis Wiuff and Attila Vegh each punched their tickets to the finals in completely different ways.
Tonight Bellator returns for their 72nd event showcased in the sunny Tampa Florida. The Light Heavyweight Semi-Finals will take place setting up who will have a chance to steal the belt away from the newly crowned champ. A good mix of the nations outside of the UFC talent will square off and will we will be sure to catch great free fights tonight on MTV 2.
Making his Bellator debut at last Friday’s Bellator 71 summer series event, Emanuel Newton looked impressive in capturing his sixth consecutive victory. In the opening round of the light heavyweight tournament, Newton took on Caesar Gracie trained fighter Roy Boughton.
As Summer is a mere two days old, the heat that has already enveloped the East Coast was matched by the hard-hitting action as Bellator premiered it’s Summer Series, tonight, in Chester, WV. Bellator 71 featured the beginning of its Light Heavyweight tournament, highlighted by Travis Wiuff, who many claim as the REAL Bellator Light Heavyweight Champ.

Coming into the Bellator light heavyweight tournament the name Christian M’Pumbu would have drawn a quick “WHO?” from many MMA fans. After his 3rd round TKO win over Chris Davis in the quarterfinal round, M’Pumbu moved onto the semifinals to face Tim Carpenter. Coming into the fight once again as the underdog, M’Pumba looked impressive and defeated Carpenter by TKO in the1st round TKO.
The final semifinal bouts of Bellator’s fourth season takes place this weekend in the light heavyweight division at Bellator 42. Live from the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, Oklahoma the remaining four light heavyweights will be cut down to the two finalists.
The fourth and final Bellator season four tournaments got underway last night as the light heavyweight took the stage for very first time in Bellator. Eight fighters started with the goal of becoming the first ever Bellator light heavyweight champion. As the night concluded the field of eight was slashed in half to four.
