Holy cow it’s mid January and I’m finally starting to get back into my every day rhythm. Ok, I’m lying; I still haven’t found it yet. It’s been a life changing few months for sure, getting to compete on the biggest stage in Mixed Martial Arts was a wild ride for sure! I came up short from the goals I set for myself and it was disappointing for sure. The lighter weights can scrap and the bantamweights and featherweights brought it tonight at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two new Ultimate Fighter champions were crowned and 15 of the 16 fighters that made it into the house fought on the card. Headlining the card were the coaches fighting on the finale for only the second time in the series history.

Featherweight Dennis Bermudez earned his spot in the TUF 14 house by defeating Jimmie Rivera by second round TKO in the preliminary round. His impressive showing garnered praise from Dana White and the coaches and despite never fighting at featherweight until the preliminary round, the former Division 1 wrestler had all the hype behind him entering the house.

All the TUF 14 fighters made weight for tomorrow’s finale but Coach Michael Bisping had to use the towel and was still a quarter pound heavy. His opponent Jason “Mayhem” Miller made weight and told Joe Rogan that the “time for talking is over” after the weigh-ins. The lovable Bisping took is anger towards Miller out on the fans.

One of the best seasons in recent TUF history comes to a close tomorrow night in Las Vegas, Nevada where a bantamweight and featherweight season winner will be determined. After these men are given the glass plaque, six figure contract and accolades for the accomplishment, the real finale happens – Michael Bisping (21-3) vs. Jason Miller (24-7). Throughout the season, they got under each others skin and antagonized themselves with pranks, shouting and almost coming to blows, all while displaying a true passion and talent for coaching the men on their teams.
