Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was on full display in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil last night at UFC on FUEL TV 10: Nogueira vs. Werdum 2. A record smashing eight submission took place to go along with the two knockouts and two decisions.
The UFC is racking up the frequent flyer miles once again as the promotion returns to Brazil with Saturdays UFC on FUEL TV 10, just three weeks after they left. The card as flown under the radar so to speak due to the event being tied to The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 reality show. Many MMA fans outside of Brazil haven’t even seen an episode and other didn’t even know it was even on.
A quick turn-around sees the UFC return to Brazil with the UFC on FUEL TV 10 that will close out TUF Brazil Season 2 with a coach’s fight, as well as the finals of that season. There are many familiar faces on this card, as well as some new cats as well, so let’s dig into the action and see what we have in store.
Injuries happen in every sport, they’re unavoidable but what the UFC is currently experiencing is on another level. Sunday’s premiere of TUF: Brazil showed 32 fighters from all over Brazil stepped into the Octagon to fight their way into the first international TUF house. Coaches Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva, along with UFC President Dana White watched on as 16 fights narrowed the field down to the 8 featherweights and 8 middleweights that will compete for the chance to become the next Ultimate Fighter.
The first ever international edition of The Ultimate Fighter reality series premieres tonight. The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil will air in Brazil on Globo however it will be streaming in North America on TUF.TV at 9pm PT / 12am ET. TUF: Brazil will not be live like the TUF Live: Team Cruz vs. Team Faber, instead it will bring back the old format of being taped like the previous 14 seasons.
