The UFC’s debut in Seattle, Washington last Saturday night proved to be a successful one. UFN 24 was full of ups and downs, though the crowd was treated with everything they could ask for in a night of fights. Below is a list of the winners and losers at the end of the night.
For years, PRIDE Fighting Championships was the biggest MMA organization in Japan. Building its popularity off of tournaments, open-weight “freak show” fights, and some of the biggest names in MMA putting on exciting shows for their fans from all over the world. Just as with the UFC today, for years, if you didn’t fight in PRIDE, you didn’t get any recognition.
Last night two free MMA cards took place on live television and the two first fights on each card graced viewers with two very rare submissions that really dragged the fans into a great night of fights. UFN 24 saw a “twister” submission which was locked in by Chan Sung Jung last night for the first time in UFC history, and then an “inverted triangle” pulled by Rage in the Cage star’s Richard Hale last night in Bellator’s light heavyweight tournament.
Making their first trip to Seattle, Washington, the UFC put on a great event tonight with UFN 24: Nogueira vs. Davis. How could it not be a great event when a fighter pulls off a very rare twitter submission along with a tapout via strikes.

Unlike previous Fight Night’s in the past, this one is taking place during the weekend instead of during the week and leading up to the premiere of The Ultimate Fighter.
The UFC makes its first trip Seattle Washington this Saturday, March 26, 2011 for UFC Fight Night 24: “Nogueira vs. Davis”. Originally the event was called “Nogueira vs. Ortiz” until Phil Davis stepped in to face Lil Nog after Tito Ortiz suffered a cut above his eye and a concussion while training and was forced to withdraw.
