Phil Davis is out of UFC 133 with a knee injury, this according to MMA Fighting who broke the story. At this point, it is unclear as to how this will affect Rashad Evans, but it won’t be easy to find a suitable replacement on some three weeks notice. Tito Ortiz just fought and wasn’t injured, perhaps he’d like a shot to redeem himself against Evans. Not to beat a dead horse, but this could also open the way for a fight between Champion Jon Jones and number one contender Rashad Evans at UFC 134.
Saturday night at UFC 129, in front of the largest audience he’s ever fought in front of, Randy Couture stepped into the cage to face Lyoto Machida. This would be the last time we see Randy face off with someone inside the fabled Octagon. He’d go out on his shield, as a warrior should.

On April 30, 2011 Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko (25-5) and Jason “The Hitman” Brilz (18-3-1) will look to stay relevant in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. While a loss for either fighter does not guarantee them a pink slip, the possibility does exist. Both fighters are in the later stages of their career and a loss could be detrimental to fighting and remaining in the UFC.
