Seriously? Liddell vs. Ortiz III
Posted by Joshua Wood (Editor in Chief)Dec 6
As the night closed on the TUF finale Dana White made the announcement of Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz as the TUF season 11 coaches. Do we really need to see a third installment of Liddell vs. Ortiz? I think not, the two faced each other previously at UFC 47 and UFC 66 with Chuck Liddell winning both via TKO. We usually only get trilogieswhen the fighters split the first two or if maybe there is some controversy but there was neither here. Liddell clearly won both fights and there is nothing to warrant this other then shits and giggles. Neither have anything to gain from the fight except maybe Ortiz getting some revenge.
As coaches though I like the idea since both have been there and were good doing it. Liddell was one of the coaches along with Randy Couture for season 1 and Ortiz coached in season 3 along with Ken Shamrock. This guys will work with the fighters and make them a better fighter when the season ends. I can only hope that when the season ends these two will fight as the main event at the finale free on spike.

I think this is a bad choice. I really don’t care to see Lidell-Ortiz III.
couldn’t agree more that this is a sleeper. no pun intended. chuck has been put to sleep too many times lately and tito, well hes just not tito. so i think this is maybe where tuf “jumps the shark”. bad marketing for the ufc. first they give us kimbo with a bum knee and now this. i love the sport but if it turns into dragging out the cripple and crazy well we’ve already see what happened to boxing.
I couldn’t agree more. This fight has no interest to me. Chuck has lost his edge so if Tito wins it really means nothing.
