Just 24 hours after a successful title defense from the Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, the promotion has made some changes to Tim Kennedy’s upcoming fight. Kennedy, who was defeated by Souza for the Middleweight title, was originally scheduled to face Jason Miller, but the bout has since been scrapped and Luke Rockhold will now face Kennedy in March.

The sudden change of opponents comes as a surprise to many. The March event for Strikeforce was set to be the final chapter in the Miller/Kennedy trilogy though it looks as if Kennedy has lost interest in the bout. Both fighters hold one win apiece over the other and most fans were interested in seeing who would settle the score. Unfortunately fans will have to wait another day to see that fight.

With the sudden change, there is only one question left unanswered, what’s next for Miller?

With Paul Daley fighting outside of the promotion next month at BAMMA 5, if he were to lose this fight, his chances at fighting Diaz would most likely disappear. Should this happen could “Mayhem” be the one to step in and fight Nick Diaz instead?

Despite comments from Diaz pointing in another direction, it possible that Strikeforce could have the grudge match in mind for Miller next. Though 15 pounds separate the two and Diaz wants to get “paid” to move up in weight, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said after Saturdays fight that the new contract of Diaz pays him pretty well.

If that’s the case, Diaz, Miller and the rest of the MMA world will be watching closely on February 26 to see the outcome of Daley’s BAMMA championship bout.
