UFC on Versus 3: Sanchez vs. Kampmann Predictions
The UFC will give its fans get a nice change of pace with a Thursday event as they make their third appearance on Versus Network. Live from the ridiculously named KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, UFC on Versus 3 features an 11 fight card that is headlined by a welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez.
Sanchez (24-4) is 1-1 in his second stint in the welterweight division, after he dropped down to lightweight for three fights. Sanchez won his last bout at UFC 121 by unanimous decision against Paulo Thiago that halted a two fight skid. Kampmann (17-4) is coming off a razor-thin split decision lose to Jake Shields also at UFC 121 last October. Since moving down to welterweight Kampmann has gone 4-2 facing some of the top names in the division.
With talk of current welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre moving up to middleweight should he successfully defend his title against Jake Shields, this bout between Sanchez and Kampmann could possibly have title implications.
The rest of the main card features former bantamweight champion Brian Bowles taking on Damacio Page and two middleweight bouts in C.B. Dollaway vs. Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman vs. Alessio Sakara.
The televised portion of the UFC on Versus 3 card appears on paper to be four action packed fights with fighters that, as Mike Goldberg says “Like to fight.” Make sure to watch all the action this Thursday at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.
