Tomorrow night the Knoxville Civic Auditorium-Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee will play host to XFC 16: High Stakes. In the night’s main event lightweights Drew Fickett and Jamie Varner face off in a bout with “High Stakes” as each fighter has lost to prove.

Coming off a win at XFC 14 in October, Jamie Varner (18-6-1, 2nc) will try to do something he hasn’t done since January of 2009, win back to back fights. The former WEC lightweight champion actually won his 5th in a row at that time but has since just gone 2-4-1. Since being released from the WEC in December of 2010 Varner has bounced around before knocking out Nate Jolly, which earned him a three fight contract with XFC.

Drew Fickett (41-16) opened his career with 34 wins in 39 professional fights, defeated the likes of Josh Koscheck and Kenny Florian while never suffer back to back loses. Over the last three and a half years Fickett has just gone just 7-11 which include two prolonged losing streaks. As his enters tomorrows main event with Varner he’s currently on a three fight losing streak, all via first round stoppages. Fickett has turned things around following a losing streak before but that wasn’t until he had lost five consecutive fights.

Each fighter is looking to prove they still have what it takes to win inside the cage and maybe more importantly, what it takes to continue headlining cards.

XFC 16 will also air live on HDNet with seven of the overall 10 matches schedule to be televised. Tune into tomorrow night for another exciting night of MMA action on HDNet.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
