Arizona based fighter Aaron Simpson plans to make his long-awaited Welterweight debut tonight on the UFC on Fuel TV 4 Main card. Aaron Simpson was on a three fight winning streak when he faced a relatively new UFC fighter in Ronny Marks, losing a split decision after being muscled around the cage. That’s fight prompted Simpson’s decision to make the cut to a lower weight class so he could be the one tossing his weight around and potentially rejuvenate his career in the process.

Tonight Aaron Simpson will meet a tough 11-1 Kenny Robertson who got off to a tough debut in the UFC but is ready to once again prove he belongs inside the Octagon. Robertson is a crafty striker with a few tricky submission victories under his belt so he will be ready to go wherever this fight goes and is considered a live underdog for this fight with a decent shot at an upset. Simpson on the other hand has all the tricks to take this fight and hit a home run. Robertson will most likely be thinking to defend a brutal wave of takedowns which will leave some openings. These openings could allow Simpsons overhand right to find a home or he could fall victim to the takedown anyway and eat shots all fight long from his back.

Aaron Simpson at UFC on FUEL TV 4Simply said experience goes a long way in this fight so we should really see an Aaron Simpson who can shine in the welterweight division. The flip side is that this could also be a huge win for Robertson, propelling him right into a fight among the elite at 170 pounds. Whatever happens this will most likely be a highly technical grappling affair with chances of haymakers gone wild.

UFC on FUEL TV 4 will begin at 2:30pm PT / 5:30pm ET with the prelims on Facebook before Aaron Simpson and Kenny Robertson face-off on the main card beginning at 5pm PT / 8pm ET.
