UFC 154 374x200 UFC 154: St Pierre vs. Condit Bold PredictionsThe UFC welterweight champion returns to action this weekend as Canada’s Georges St-Pierre looks to unify the belts at UFC 154 in Montreal. Also looking to unify the belt will be the interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit who defeated Nick Diaz way back in February by unanimous decision. St-Pierre has been out since April of last year after injuring his knee late last year that required surgery.

The welterweight division has been waiting for the belts to be unified and in the co-main event; the winner could be getting the first shot at the champ. Johny Hendricks and Martin Kampmann survived the long wait and find themselves in a potential number one contender bout. Only reason it’s labeled as potential is because of the possibility of the rumored “super-fight” between St-Pierre and Middleweight champion Anderson Silva coming to fruition and further delaying the welterweight division.

The UFC 154 isn’t just about the welterweight division though. Opening the main card will be Canadian Mark Hominick as he tries to snap a three fight losing streak when he takes on Pablo Garza. In the Prelims Ivan Menjivar will welcome Azamat Gashimov to the UFC in the Russians first fight away from his home. In what should be a slugfest, Patrick Cote looks to bounce back from his loss to Cung Le as he faces Alessio Sakara.

At last week’s UFC on FUEL TV 6 event in Macao where we nearly broke even at 5-4 we find ourselves at 173-124 heading into the last month and a half.
