UFC-160-ResultsThe UFC heavyweight title is on the line tonight in the UFC 160 main event from inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Cain Velasquez will look for a repeat performance as he defends his title against Antonio Silva, who will be looking to avoid that repeat performance.

Two heavyweights will also be in the UFC 160 co-main event as former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will face off against Mark Hunt. The winner of this bout could potentially earn the winner a title shot, should the cards align just right. Speaking of title shots, according to UFC president Dana White, the winner of the T.J. Grant vs. Gray Maynard lightweight bout will be the next opponent for champion Benson Henderson.

Along with the above mentioned three fights, UFC 160 features 12 stacked bouts that’s worthy of a UFC Memorial Day weekend fight card. The card gets started on Facebook with three fights before finishing up the preliminary card with four bouts on FX. The UFC 160 main card gets started a 7pm PT / 10pm ET with five fights on PPV. Follow all the night’s action right here plus we’ll throw in some post fight analysis.

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook, 6:35 p.m. ET)

145 lbs.: Jeremy Stephens defeated Estevan Payan by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27)

  • In the featherweight debut by Stephens he turned the face and Octagon mat into a complete bloody mess. Stephens landed what seemed like everything he threw yet Payan would not give up.

135 lbs.: George Roop defeated Brian Bowles by 2nd round TKO (1:43)

  • Not fighting for so long seemed to hurt Bowles as his cardio gave out on him as the second round started. That’s unfortunate for him because he scored to knock downs in round one and nearly finished Roop with a guillotine.

170 lbs.: Stephen Thompson defeated Nah-Shon Burrell by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)

PRELIMINARY CARD (FX, 8 p.m. ET)

155 lbs.: Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Abel Trujillo by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

  • Striking wise the fight was close but in terms on grappling it was all Nurmagomedov by a landslide. Once the Russian got his hands on Trujillo the fight went to the ground and once there he had nothing stop it. Complete domination for Nurmagomedov who stays undefeated.

170 lbs.: Robert Whittaker defeated Colton Smith by 3rd round TKO (:041)

  • In a battle of TUF winners, Whittaker defended the takedowns excellent and punished Smith standing.

145 lbs.: Dennis Bermudez defeated Max Holloway by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

  • Bermudez had a really hard time dealing with the length of Holloway. He finally got inside in round three and scored a handful of takedowns. It looked like Holloway had the fight but the judges gave it to Bermudez.

170 lbs.: Mike Pyle defeated Rick Story by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

  • Great fight that nearly ended in the first round when Story dropped Pyle with a nice body to head combo. Pyle, the MMA vet hung in there and turned the tide with submission attempts galore. In round three Pyle got the better of the striking landing some nasty standing elbows to steal the fight.

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)

155 lbs.: Donald Cerrone defeated KJ Noons by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

  • Noons came out kicking and Cerrone came out on fire. Noons as always was game but he gassed out in round two and as the fight went on he became a bloody mess. Dominant performance for Cerrone!

155 lbs.: T.J. Grant defeated Gray Maynard by 1st round TKO (2:07)

  • WOW! Grant came out ready for a war and kept telling Maynard to come forward. Guess he knew what he was doing because he put a beating against the cage on Maynard for the quick finish. Grant will now face Benson Henderson.

205 lbs.: Glover Teixeira defeated James Te Huna by 1st round Guillotine Submission (2:38)

  • One word, IMPRESSIVE. Teixeira showed that he is a well-rounded fighter by choking out the very tough James Te Huna.

265 lbs.: Junior dos Santos defeated Mark Hunt by 3rd round KO (4:18)

  • Dos Santos had the clear cut speed advantage over Hunt but had to be cautious of the power from Hunt. Dos Santos knocked him down in the first round but also got clipped as well. In round two Hunt began is fade and got taken down by the former champion. Dos Santos was clearly winning heading into round three but wanted the finish and it was a spinning heel kick that would get him the KO.

265 lbs. Title Fight: Cain Velasquez defeated Antonio Silva by 1st round TKO (1:21)

  • Second verse same as the first! Speed kills and Velasquez does it again to Silva but this time even quicker.
